Gaby vivait dans ses valises. Il allait là où se trouvaient ses sujets, profitant une fois sur place pour photographier la vie des gens ordinaires. Il faisait parfois 80 000 km dans une année. Il se rendait souvent en France et aimait les pays scandinaves. Il a beaucoup voyagé en Afrique et s’est rendu dans les îles du Pacifique sud. Le public québécois pouvait le suivre grâce à de nombreux reportages dans la presse, à ses expositions de reportages-photos et à ses conférences.

Gaby lived out of a suitcase. He went wherever his subjects were, taking the opportunity once there to photograph the lives of ordinary people. He sometimes traveled 80,000 km in a year. He often went to France and loved the Scandinavian countries. He traveled extensively in Africa and visited the islands of the South Pacific. The Quebec public could follow his work through numerous press articles, his photojournalism exhibitions, and his lectures.
